Christmas at Casa Hogar

News: Casa Hogar Missions

The mission team went down to Reynosa this past December. Diana Garcia was so kind to write a little bit about their trip:

The children were amazing as children usually are. Casa Hogar, is a lighthouse not only for orphans, but abandoned children and for poverty stricken families who can’t afford to send their children to school or to feed them. At Casa Hogar, the children get three meals a day, homeschooling, uniforms and lots of love and attention.

The Mission Team was able to attend church with Sister Elma and the staff. On Monday we divided into teams of 2s and 3s to help with each age group as they made the prepared Christmas crafts. We enjoyed the children enjoying themselves. A Christmas tree was decorated and a Christmas pageant was put together and presented in a matter of a few minutes; with songs, costume, and narration. All the while a team worked steadily at completing two shelf units for a classroom.  I had the opportunity to be in a group that helped restore the entrance mural because it was worn and weather beaten. It was a mission on steroids as so many goals were accomplished in two ministry days.

Ps 68:6 says, “God makes a home for the lonely”… and I thought that’s Casa Hogar!  Casa Hogar: Home – it is what the children dream of; a house that will also be their home.

For only $1 a day, you can provide shelter, food, clothing, medical care, education and love to these children.
